Short answer

Self-serve tools charge from about £1.67 a photo, and done-for-you services about £12 to £25 a photo, though the lower figure converts Styldod's US-dollar rate: the only one of these quoted in pounds directly is Virtual Staging Studio's £25. ProperPics charges £32 for the whole listing.

You send the photos; a team sends back finished images. In the UK, Virtual Staging Studio advertises a same-day to next-working-day turnaround at £25 a photo. International services such as BoxBrownie and Styldod charge US$16 to US$24 a photo. We return the whole listing for £32, usually within 24 hours. Physical staging

Real furniture, hired and installed: the only option that changes the show day itself. UK stagers typically quote per project, with furniture hired for the listing period.

How we compared

We read each provider's public pricing page on 18 October 2026 and recorded its advertised price for staging one photo and its advertised turnaround. US dollar prices carry an approximate pounds conversion at £0.75 to the dollar, rounded. A range stays a range, and a provider that publishes no price shows as pricing on request. Our per-room figure spreads £32 across an illustrative 10-room home: an illustration, not a per-room rate. We keep dated copies of every page we read and re-check the figures roughly every quarter.

Why does most virtual staging in the UK get priced per photo instead of per listing?

Per-photo pricing is the norm because most providers sell single images, usually in US dollars, so a UK agent staging a whole listing pays for each photo separately. ProperPics prices per listing instead: £32 covers the whole listing's staged rooms, enhancement wherever a photo needs it, and the written description.

Is a self-serve staging tool good enough for a major UK property portal listing?

Sometimes. The tools render in seconds and charge only for the render, but you do the work: choosing furniture, checking every result and redoing failed renders. Quality varies by room and photo. If your time is billable or the mandate matters, a done-for-you service checks every image before it goes on the portal.

Does virtual staging cost less than dressing a house for a UK viewing?
