Make the room look the way it looked when you stood in it

Every photograph you send is checked and colour-corrected, and where one has a real fault, that fault is corrected too. On a well-shot listing the change is deliberately small. What gets corrected

These are the five complaints we hear most about listing photographs. Each correction runs only when the photograph actually has that fault, measured rather than assumed, so a photograph that does not have the fault is left alone rather than pushed around to look busy.

  1. The room came out too dark

    Shadows and exposure are lifted so the corners of the room read, without blowing out the windows or flattening the picture.

  2. The colours look wrong

    White balance is corrected, so a room lit by a warm bulb stops looking orange and white walls come back to white.

  3. The photo looks flat and hazy

    Haze is cleared and contrast recovered across the frame, which is usually what makes a photograph look like it was taken through a window it was not taken through.

  4. The walls are leaning

    The image is straightened and the vertical lines corrected, which is what happens when a phone is tilted back to fit the ceiling in.

  5. It came out grainy

    Noise is reduced without smearing the detail, which matters most in the darker rooms where phones struggle.

The property itself is never changed

Enhancement corrects the photograph. It does not move a wall, widen a room, remove a crack or add a view. That line is what separates it from virtual staging, which adds furniture to an empty room, and it is why only staged images carry furniture that is not there. A photograph that oversells a room costs you the viewing when the buyer arrives. Corrections are held to what the room actually looked like.

Common questions

What does photo enhancement actually change?
The technical faults in how the photograph was captured: exposure, colour, haze, tilt and grain. It does not change the property. The room you photographed is the room the buyer sees, corrected to look the way it looked when you stood in it.
What does enhancement cost?
Nothing on its own. It is part of every listing at R1199, which covers up to 15 rooms, the staging, the dusk exterior conversions and a written property description.
How is enhancement different from virtual staging?
Enhancement corrects the photograph. Staging adds furniture to an empty room. A listing usually needs both, and the difference matters for disclosure: an enhanced photograph shows the property as it is, so only the staged images carry furniture that is not there.
Will an enhanced photo still look like the property?
That is the point of it. A photograph that oversells a room costs you the viewing when the buyer arrives. Corrections are held to what the room actually looked like, which is also what keeps the listing honest under the disclosure policy.
My photos are already decent. Will I see a difference?
Probably not much, and that is the intended behaviour. Each correction runs only where the photograph has that fault, so a well-shot listing comes back looking like itself with the colour tidied up. Enhancement is there for the photograph taken in a hurry, in a dark room, at the end of a long day. When it is not needed it stays out of the way.
Do I need a good camera for this to work?
A phone is enough. Enhancement fixes capture faults, not composition, so the photograph still needs to be taken from a sensible corner with the room tidy. Our shooting guide covers the handful of things that make the difference.
